TangibleART ist eine gemeinnützige Initiative aus der Region Basel. Der Verein engagiert sich für konstruktive, konkrete, minimale, optische und abstrakte geometrische Kunst. Er setzt sich ausserdem für den Erhalt des kulturellen Erbes lokaler Institutionen und Kunstschaffender ein. 

Diese digitale Plattform ist ein erster Schritt zur Dokumentation der künstlerischen Positionen und institutionellen Aktivitäten, mit dem Ziel, sie einem nationalen und internationalen Publikum zugänglich zu machen. Darüber hinaus verfolgt TangibleART das Ziel, die ungegenständliche geometrische Kunst aktiv zu fördern. Dazu gehören neue Ausstellungsmöglichkeiten, der Aufbau eines Netzwerks für Kunstschaffende sowie die langfristige Sicherung künstlerischer Nachlässe. 

Bei der Namensfindung spielten verschiedene Faktoren eine Rolle: Der Name sollte den Bezug zur Kunst deutlich machen, ohne eine der genannten Strömungen zu bevorzugen. Zugleich musste er für den digitalen Auftritt geeignet und verfügbar sein. Die Top-Level-Domain „.org” unterstreicht die Einordnung als Organisation und schliesst eine Lesart als Bezeichnung einer neuen Kunstrichtung aus.

So entstand der Name TangibleART. Dass er unterschiedliche Interpretationen zulässt, wird bewusst in Kauf genommen, denn schon auf der Ebene des Namens wird der aufmerksame Leser zur Auseinandersetzung angeregt. Dies spiegelt sich auch in der anspruchsvollen grafischen Gestaltung des Logos in den drei Primärfarben wider, die sich nicht auf den ersten Blick erschliesst.

TangibleART est une initiative à but non lucratif née dans la région de Bâle. L’association soutient l’art construit, concret, minimaliste, optique et l’abstraction géométrique. Elle s’engage également pour la préservation du patrimoine culturel des institutions et des artistes locaux. 

Cette plateforme numérique marque une première étape vers la documentation des positions artistiques et des activités institutionnelles, dans le but de les rendre accessibles à un public national et international. L’association a par ailleurs pour objectif de promouvoir activement l’art non-figuratif géométrique. Cela inclut la création de nouvelles possibilités d’exposition, le développement d’un réseau pour les artistes et la préservation à long terme du patrimoine artistique.

Plusieurs critères ont guidé le choix du nom : il devait refléter le lien avec l’art sans privilégier l’une des tendances mentionnées. Il devait également être adapté à une présence numérique et, bien sûr, être disponible. Le domaine de premier niveau  „.org” souligne qu’il s’agit d’une organisation et exclut toute interprétation du nom comme désignation d’un nouveau courant artistique.

C’est ainsi qu’est né le nom TangibleART. La possibilité de multiples interprétations est assumée, car le nom en lui-même invite à la réflexion chez le lecteur attentif. Cette idée se retrouve également dans le logo, dont la conception graphique exigeante, réalisée dans les trois couleurs primaires, ne se dévoile pas au premier coup d’œil.

TangibleART est une association à but non lucratif, exonérée d’impôts, régie par l’article 60 du Code Civil, et domiciliée à la Reinacherstrasse 117, 4053 Bâle.

TangibleART è un’iniziativa senza scopo di lucro nata nella regione di Basilea. L’associazione promuove l’arte costruttiva, concreta, minimalista, ottica e l’astrazione geometrica. Si impegna inoltre per la salvaguardia del patrimonio culturale delle istituzioni e degli artisti locali. 

Questa piattaforma digitale rappresenta un primo passo verso la documentazione delle posizioni artistiche e delle attività istituzionali, con l’obiettivo di renderle accessibili a un pubblico nazionale e internazionale. Inoltre, TangibleART persegue l’obiettivo di promuovere attivamente l’arte non-figurativa geometrica. Ciò include nuove opportunità espositive, la creazione di una rete per gli artisti e la salvaguardia a lungo termine dei lasciti artistici.

La scelta del nome è stata guidata da diversi criteri: doveva riflettere il legame con l’arte senza privilegiare nessuna delle correnti citate. Doveva inoltre prestarsi a una presenza digitale e, ovviamente, essere disponibile. Il dominio di primo livello „.org” sottolinea che si tratta di un’organizzazione ed esclude qualsiasi interpretazione del nome come denominazione di una nuova corrente artistica.

È così che è nato il nome TangibleART. La sua apertura a molteplici interpretazioni è intenzionale, poiché il nome stesso invita il lettore attento alla riflessione. Questo principio si ritrova anche nel logo, la cui elaborata concezione grafica nei tre colori primari non si rivela a prima vista.

Furthermore, TangibleART aims to actively promote non-figurative geometric art by creating new exhibition opportunities, building networks, and ensuring the long-term preservation of artistic estates.

For the name selection, several factors were taken into account: the name had to convey a connection to art without favouring any of the mentioned movements. At the same time, it needed to be suitable for a digital presence and available. The top-level domain „.org” emphasises its status as an organisation and precludes any interpretation as the designation of a new artistic movement.

Thus, the name TangibleART was born. We embrace the fact that it allows for multiple interpretations, as attentive readers will engage with it even at the level of the name. This is also reflected in the elaborate design of the logo in the three primary colors, which does not reveal itself at first glance.
